Just found out there are a couple guys headed out Thursday, they're going to save a big spot for all of us between wash 9 and 10, lots of room there and good solid footing.
Magic I hope you get the trailer back in time.

    What's this shit???????
I thought we were going off of Gecko so no one gets stuck.
That's where I will be, so once you are tired of trying to pull that 4500 motorhome out of being stuck for 6-7 hours, we'll be all set up off Gecko.
From what I understand, it hasn't rained out there since October. I'm keeping 2 tires on pavement.

The washes are actually easier to get in and out of with less chance of getting stuck. Gecko is nice on the pad(sand over a rubber mat) but you can still get stuck there because there is a lot less turning room, basically a paved road with pads on either side and then deep sand after that. If you get in a tight spot on Gecko it's no fun to get out. The only time I've ever been stuck in Glamis in my 4x4 and the WW was off gecko, got to a spot where the road was blocked and I didn't have enough room to get through, I tried to cut across a small sandy spot and that was it, had to get towed out backwards. On Gecko the rule is you have to have your rig at least 10 feet off the pavement. The washes are hard pack dirt at the edge of the dunes, they stay hard pack until you get right up against the dunes, lots and lots of mohos stay in the washes. The washes are a lot easier to manuver around in, the only thing is that it gets dusty if the wind picks up. I know you're a little gun shy about getting stuck but the guys going out to save the spot have a 40 foot + WW similar to yours so I know they'll pick a good spot. You're free to do what you want but I really think the washes are a better bet for the trip and all the 2 wheel drive moho's and trucks.
Just my opinion. I'll ttry and find some pics to show you Gecko vs. the washes.

    Here's a few pics:
    First Gecko:

    http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data...cko_rd-med.jpg
You can see the paved road and how everyone crowds around it but then the deep sand is off to either side just outside the "pad".
    Here's the washes:

    http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data...495Campers.jpg
You can see the washes are more spread out and are made up of hardpack with a little sand on top. Hell there's even a car in the second pic if they can make you can make it
Anyway camp where you want but we'd love to have you camp with the rest of us.

    I vote for washes.
It is alot more fun to camp in a wagontrain and not be touching your neighbors.
I will make sure to unload my Rhino as I am pulling in and have Jen pull out my little truck if I get stuck.(I have yet to get stuck in a 2wd at Dumont or Glamis)

The dust and train sucks at the washes, but it will be much easier to get this size of a group in w/ a big circle to have a big fire in the middle I don't want any micky bombs (or can of beans like two new years ago ) hitting my trailer. I need to stock up on some bagel bites... maybe that will make us stay awake longer Mocks & Pfeifers

Remember we just need to set more realistic goals like making it 9PM then maybe 10PM
I can't guarntee there won't be any explosions.....the beans did get pretty good air time, plus it keeps people on their toes around the fire :crossx:
Gecko is nice for three or four rigs. I like both places, each have the good and bad. The trick to surviving the train is just to drink/eat enough Jello shots that you don't hear it all night :rollside:

The train was not bad at all where we were for New Years! You're right... we need to be realisitc and not shoot for midnight... How sad were we! That's okay... there's always next year right I think the washes will be great for this group... and you know me! I love the mini dunes in the golf cart so I'm sure I'll like the Rhino in them too! Gotta get the feel of it out there for sure! Only a week and a half to go!! WOOHOO! I'm excited! Sean is picking up the new cage this morning!

    I am game for whatever.
As long as we have a fire pit and are off the beaten path so no wild out of control riders hit our stuff I am good.
It is amazing how 8pm fells like midnight at the dunes!!
<------ ordered my CVT filter and padded Crow 5 points today. :crossx:
I got the CDI on friday :skull:

Just kidding As long as there is action going on at the fire... I last much later We should be far enough from the crazies on the road... And the mini dunes are fun!
