seems a bit high to me, what about pick your part and all the yards out there?
I have a 460 now but am thinking about picking up another as a spare/learning motor. I found a '69 365H.P./500LBS.FT motor and am just curious if anyone has feedback on what a fair price would be. It is complete minus the carb and turns freely but the milage is unknown. He's asking $450.00 and he'll pull it. Any thoughts?

Haven't looked yet. This just fell in my lap and so I thought I would check it out the easy way ( on the board here). I'm not in any hurry so it's not that big of a deal, just feeling things out.

500 ft lbs isnt stock i can tell you that It isn't the first place I've read the '69 460 has 500 but it says it here also. '69 460 specs Do you think the numbers are inflated or just bad info floating around? My goal is to get the most bang for the buck with out dumping a bunch of cash. This will be the first motor I've ever wrenched on and I prefer to have a $1500.00 learning experiance rather than a $3500.00 one.
