If you're thinking about stepping over, just do it. Fuel injection is so easy to "dial in".
Just got back from Lake Ming, fuel injection is the way to do it, if you have the spare change!

are yall running mechanical fuel injection for racing only, or for lake hotrodding. Are you doing it on gasoline or alcohol, and if on gas, how do you keep it from fouling plugs when idling/thanks gary

It was just a matter of getting it "fine tuned" wink For the most part it was getting the barrel valve set up correctly to get the motor to idle without fouling out the plugs It has been trouble free ever since and runs great at all RPM levels
I forgot to mention that this particular boat is just a "playtoy" although very capable of being an all out race boat The motor dynoed at 1100 HP

I RUN A BIRDCATCHER ON MY LAKE BOAT(GAS).31 NOZZLES AND 132 PILL.475 CHEVY 920HP AT 7000RPM,91OCT.,7.5LBS.BOOST.475 CHEVY 31 NOZZLE AND 128 PILL,10.5 LBS.BOOST,110OCT.1013HP AT 7200RPM.
first thing is...dont have it idle up and down up and down...that sounds great but thats about it,,,turn it up to about 2400rpm,,smooth it out,,set the flies at .012...leak it at 75-80%. put the iginiton at about 34-36...and get busy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!oh and have it pushing at least 40% OVER!!!!oh this is alky also....try ken crawford,,or whom i had great luck with Ralph Gorr fuel systems,,to get you in the right ballpark.
THATS GOOD FOR ALKY NOT GAS.
