91 Mercury 135HP 2 Stroke ?

I am new to a boat, and want info or suggestions. I have a possible deal on a 91 Sea Ray with a 135 Horse Mercury motor on it. I love the layout of the boat with a long bench in the back, but I am worried about a 2 stroke. I am familiar with them mechanically but what is going on with banning them from lakes. I live in So Cal and would be going to lakes within 4-5 hours of me including Havasu and Big Bear as well as San Antonio and Isabella. Help me make a decision for this first family boat. Thanks

as far as i know the only lake you cant take a 2 stroke is tahoe

You need to find a motor with a 2010 year rating our you will be screwed on any lake in so cal I am running a new merc 225 with the 2010 rating.
