Thread: Prop Locks

    I know, I know, how the hell it happened i dont know but it did and now i have a beautiful Hill lab prop on my boat with no way to get it off.... Have any of you guys got any experience breaking a prop lock off any of u done it?
    Ive already tried using like 10 different keys from my buddies shop and none are the right one... Thanks for any help

    I would try getting a bite with a chisel, and then work it off, or locking some vice grips on the lip, and then using a hammer on the vice grips to spin it off.
    Or, if you had access to a welder, slip a socket inside the locks collar, tack weld it, wrench it, and you're done.

    Yep punch/chisel and hammer, small air cutoff can help to make some places to bite into, but welding a nut to it and wrenching it off would be the best bet.
    Also I've seen reverse EZ outs that look like a socket instead of a drill, that might work also. i think they might have em at sears.
    Boo to prop and trailer locks, all the end up causing is headaches.
