Does anyone know what the race schedule is for the Havasu area this year.
I only found one race in April at Parker.

According to the APBA schedule they just had a race at Havasu landing, jan 14-15.
My Pops just bought a place at havasu, I am looking to try and time it so I can be down there when a race is going.

lilbit, the Jan race a Havasu landing is a race for the small hydro classes. The knell down boats that promote the sport to the younger racers. There are boat trials, meaning a kid can get to drive a "J" boat around to see how they like the idea of racing one. This is critical to the sport of boat racing's "new blood" of the future. If you're looking for Inboard racing action look to the south to Bluewater in April for the SCSC/APBA action. Also look forward to the next Parker 300 Enduro, also held at the Bluewater Resort And Casino, in early fall. There was racing at Havasu a few years ago, and there may still be some classes that run there, but you won't see any APBA/SCSC inboard events there. I have seen different "poker runs" mentioned, so you might look into those events to see some fast "larger" type inboards run around the lake. I also know some locals there that occasionally rip it up with their v drives. ...MP

Thanks Moneypitt. Thats the kinda scoop I am looking for.
I currently race a Sanger Gullwing with a 468 in the Nostalgic class here in Washington State. What we race is major tame-compared to what I have heard about guys like, Scalia (not sure if I spelled that right). I would love to see them run. I am just jacked to come down to Havasu to play and hopefully find some racing to check out near by.
    Thanks again.

I have one word for you, "BURLEY". If you really want to see some balls out racing, come to Burley '06. The last weekend in June, the Burley Regatta, is a show case of inboard boat racing at it's finest, with teams from all over the country competing. SCSC has just started a comp jet nostalgia class that will run in reg 12 of APBA this season, as well as some "other" inboard news on the horizon. .............MP

Moneypitt - I'm getting all fired up for Burley. It's down on my calendar. Already gave my girlfriend the heads up, so she has plenty of reason to hang out with me until atleast till the end of June.
In Burly - how does camping work - do I need to make reservations, or do I get to hang out on the shore? Are the pits open to go around and talk to the teams when they are chilling? Racing starts what day? I'm thinking about blowing off friday at work and getting down there early.

I will try to answer these questions to the best I know. Camping: There is a campground across the river from the race site. We stayed there on 04', it is more for RVs than tents but will accomadate both. I can't remember the exact name, PM Snowboat, he stayed there as well. There is no race site beach camping, you can find your spot on the grass shore line to watch the races, there are no grandstands. The pits access requires signing a waiver, and may cost a few bucks in addition to event ticket. However each team is allowed a certain amount of passes per class run, so if we can hook up on Friday I may be able to secure you some passes to the event and the pits, BUT you will get stuck helping with pit duties and boat launching/loading, for the team that gets you IN........The Burley Inn is FULL already for that weekend, I am looking for rooms at another hotel/motel right now, and I will PM you with that info as soon as I know it. I might add that it is not etched in stone that the 89 team will be going. It is a long trip and also time consuming considering we have to work. If you use mapquest, search for directions to the Burley airport, the campground is right across the river, and the race course is beside to the golf course, (in fact the golf parking becomes the pits)..............Ray
