I was out last week at Castle AFB, or the skeleton of it, visiting the museum, and ogling the B-36, which I love. Only 5 of them left in the country, according to the books. ANYWAYS, as we are walking around, we are joined by an older gentleman, who seems to be retired AF, and likes to come and visit old friends. (The planes). We get to talking, and he is great to talk to, and as I am sitting on a bench under the massive wing of the B36, we get to talking about bombs and such, and the conversation turns to MOABs. He said they have a LARGER MOAB being tested, somewhere around 50,000#s, dropped out of a C-17..any of you guys in the know, know?? I know a lot of you are in tune with this stuff...I was wondering if there is video of the impacts yet, or if they have actually tested one of these monsters...can anyone help me out???
those B36's are so unbelievably big.. i have seen the one at wright-patterson afb in dayton ohio.. hard to believe something that big can fly.
