Anybody have an idea about the torque curve for a stock 454 chevy/volvo 740 A motor? 330 hp ( I know, pretty puny compared to you guys)
    Thanks

Here's what Desktop Dyno did with my stock 330HP Indmar 454:
    RPM HP Torque
    2000 160 420
    2500 203 427
    3000 248 434
    3500 282 432
    4000 302 397
    4500 305 355
    5000 283 297
    5500 245 234
    6000 195 170
.480" lift factory cam (.480"I, .472"E) 8.5:1 cr Large Oval Port heads, the small valves (2.06/1.76)
    yours is probably similar.

    No prob Tolly.
In talking with DuaneHTP winter '04/'05 over upgrades amid a rebuild, he told me he'd never seen one of the 330HP 454's (at least the older ones like mine) turn much over 280HP on a dyno in their stock trim. That includes those damn logs and a dual-plane 75 pound hunk of cast iron under the 700CFM Holley. According to the pump via JPCac, at 4,800rpm on a Berk A, I am turning right at 350 HP last fall after a re-cam and new intake manifold. That figure may be just a touch high as my pump isn't perfect, I know, but it isn't real sloppy loose either. Thru-Transom headers this winter. :boxed:
