Thread: 496HO Exhaust Temp Diff. on each side

    carnage
Just Installed the EMI Headers and they look great ... bolted up no problem ... did it myself in my shadytree garage.
I didn't ever check this with my stock exhaust, but checked with my new EMI Thunder Exhaust.
The right side risers on back are about 30-40 degrees hotter than the left
If the Left side is 100 degrees then the right side is 130 degrees. Pretty warm to the touch, but not burning your hand.
a good amount of water is coming out both, but yes more is coming out the left side ... and the water temp is warming coming out the right side
what is normal temp for the outside of those exhaust tubing???

    Not So Fast
I believe that when Dana tested their new headers they posted info about EGT's and also said the fuel mixture tended to run lean at a specified rpm. Better check it out, hate to see you riun a nice motor, looks good BTW. NSF
