I was going through some pics in the galleries and came upon this one it looks like they forgot to take off the covers on the exhaust. I guess he could have pulled them off right before the run. I guess I'm just bored at work.

Do they still have drags at Castaic Lake?
that's looks like dave sammonds driving his sister's BGF.
Yeah, I guess Dave says its got a little singe carb ski motor in it now for his sister to play around with.
So Dave,
Did any body notice before you fired the motor, or are they sitting at the bottom of Ming still??????

That there is the question!
The wing ends are magnetized and the covers are made of steel. When he fires it up they attach perfectly. It's an Art Anderson design...

Unfortunately the Art Anderson "Exhaust Cover Extracters" weren't installed at this particular race! In all the passes I've made this is the first time the covers had been left on...I noticed it when I turned to hook up my chute...pull'ed 'em off and tossed them to the guys working the hold rope First time it had ever happened to me...probably not the first time ever!!! I'm guessin' there might be few layin' on the bottom of Ming and Firebird!
PS...Whenever I get caught up on the workload around here(2 years?) This boat will go through a full resto and come back with an 8.00 Blown Alcohol motor!
Dave,
When you go through the restro, will you keep the retro look?
