I see all four wires going into the spark plug tubes.
It is now a mystery.
It looks like a plug wire to me, too. Most likely used to turn those exhaust pipes into "flamethrowers".
Its a sprk plug to light the raw fuel in the pipes IE a flame thrower " mystery solved"

How is it spliced into the ignition system? Is it a complete separate ignition system?
