I just got my new set of rod bearings for my motor, the part number and the crank size number match cb743p .010 but the top numbers dont match. One of the bearings reads 5.05 and the other 7.05 and the old bearings i pulled out read 3*00 what the hell does this mean.I dont want to smash the wrong bearings into the motor..

I've never paid much atention to the numbers on the other end of the bearing.
Being a "P" bearing they are not top and bottom specific.
A quick call to the tech department might let you in on what that means.
I suspect a batch number or something like that.

Have you ever seen the numbers on the back of the factory GM main bearings in a stock BBC? Those are special bearings made to correct the crappy line bore the factory does. If you ever get hold of a stocker with oem main bearings...take a look.

Oh really didn't know GM did that, I know Ford used to do that with the FE's since they were really bad, a lot worse than GM too and those bearings weren't offered over the counter either!.
