Thread: Bullet Engines???

First time poster here, but been lurking for a long time. I just recently purchased a 29' Shockwave Magnatude (used) from a couple up in San Francisco. The boat is a 2000 and came with twin 7.4 Mercury motors. I definitely need to re-power the boat and trying to decide what to go with?
Does anyone know anything about Bullet Engines or Bullet Performance? I spoke to the guys at Eliminator and they said that they were the ones that were building their new "Eliminator" engines as well as engines for other manufacturers. I have never heard anything about the engines, but they looked pretty good. I am looking for around 650 a side and they are advertising the engines up to 850 h.p. N/A.
Anyone have any experiences with them or have any information? I don't want to drop some serious money on something that is not a nice product. I have already shopped the other engine builders such as Teague, & Pfaff and they are a little out of my price range.

First, do you want to go carbed or injected?

I am definitely only interested in fuel injection. That is the one requirement that I am going to stick to.
I have followed the buildup of several GT motors and those are definitely a nice package. They are one of the few that I would consider for the boat. I just saw the Bullet engines at the LA show and they sparked my curiousity. It cant be bad to follow up on and get more information.

I would recommend Ron Munson (Infomaniac) highly for any motor work, but also recommend GT highly as well. Both are great guys and forum members, both have a lot of very happy clients. I chose Ron for building the OEM motor in the Revolution.

If it were my money I would take a hard look at Larry Peto. I think he builds some pretty nice stuff to say nothing of the fact that his motors power one of the fastest boats in the state.

I would agree with you 99% of the time, and Larry is awesome but he is not a fuel injection guru.

LOL... Yes, Larry Peto IS awesome and has done right by me.
He has gone above and beyond... Not like some of these local yocals, that just want your coin because we're in So Cal.
How does Larry put it... Those guys are "All show and no go"

    Bless your heart.
If you want to stick to crate-motor type stuff and add injection, AZ Speed and Marine has everthing you could imagine. Injected 572s, whatever. I have toured their shop - impressive.
