New Set up

I'm in the process of stepping up the pump. Last summer I built a motor the pump could not handle, so now it is time to catch up.
Old set up:
Stock 454, dual plane performer, 750 edelbrock and 2 7/8" inch logs JG with aluminum A, no plate droop etc. Best run was about 60 with a full wetted boat at about 44-4500 RPM. Empty hull weighs 1000# and 1800# rigged with some fuel, no light race lay up.
last years revised set up:
489 bbc, air gap, 950HP, ported 049s, big valves and girdles, solid roller comp cams and upgraded 3.5" logs (logs need new home). Bolt on plate and droop combo, (now for sale, see spam section)http://www.***boat.com/forums/showth...87#post1801087
Best run was 65 but after an 1/8 mile pump would shake like the boat was coming apart.
revision # 2 - last summer - super stock loader, started blending the intake and suction to match (while still in boat) best run was 70 and I could hold it to the floor all day no shakes
This years set up so far - thru transom rewarders, new 4" tips will now run 76 on radar. Now on to the new stuff,coming in the next month, agressor bronze A, agressor bowl, droop, inducer, shoe and plate, motor and pump to come back two inches and probally a 250 shot of juice. So this summer should be a little more fun as this particular boat does not look like it should run anything over 55.
But the biggest performance enhancing mod this winter is that I painted the trailer, so now the boat looks fast on the trailer which I hope should transfer to the water for another 1-3MPH, hey if its chrome, that's faster right?
