Who is making the best laptop these days? it will be used for internet, e-mail, pictures, and word processing....
I recommend something with at least dual cores and four gigs of RAM.
Alright, the time has come to retire the 4 year old Dell. it has been a good machine for the most part.
Who is making the best laptop these days? it will be used for internet, e-mail, pictures, and word processing. looking to spend no more than $1200 and would like a 17" screen and a keyboard with a 10-key number pad. These are not mandatory but would like to have them. I used a new Toshiba a few months back for drafting and was really impressed. I know they had a horrible rep a few years back but they seem nice now.
So give me your opinions and if anyone knows where to get a smoking deal, pass it on.
Thanks, Ryan

I just got a Dell 17" for $1200 and love it.
I recommend also checking out Acer. Right now, they're tough to beat for the money.
I would go w/Dell again. I have the 17" Inspiron. Let me know if you need an Aircard for your new laptop

Another Acer vote here, good bang for the buck.

Toshiba...I have two right now and they are the most durable, hard-working, and reliable laptops you can come by, for a reasonable price. I was going to get a Mac but I found I could get more memory/speed/etc in a Toshiba for less price. Plus Costco usually has some good deals on them.
