Has anyone been there lately? Is the water level real low again this winter? I know last year the cove was about half the length into the canyon there.

I do not know about the water, but I do know that there is a gang that hangs out there. Castaic Catfish, I think they call themselves. They have stickers on the back of thier trucks and are usually chewing tobacco.
Was there about a month ago , water was high , got caught speeding, be very careful ! There are more patrol boats on the lake than anything else !

i went out on friday and it looks like it is down about 10' so not near what it was a the end of summer and the sheriff's wer not out either i got out without a ticket

Did you drive into the cove at all? There was a real nice beach that formed back there last year.
Last time I was at Castaic was 2 summers ago. The sherrif searched our boat at the dock and made us get rid of all our beer. Have not been back since.
