Ladder rack time.
I have a 2500 HD Longbed. It gets 1/2 Rangers per gallon

Racks are fine for lumber and ladders, but thats about it.
I don't need a 3/4 ton... f 150 would be nice, but i don't want to spend close to 30k on a work truck.
You should write a letter and complain, perhaps call the president. I hear that will make things happen.
Just weld an extension on the bed, you'll fit right in.
Brian
Ford in the mid 80s built a f150 with a extra long bed( 10ft, was built on the long bed extend cab frame, but with standard cab.) I would kill to have one. They only made a few thosand of them, mostly in fleet trim... my uncle had the XLT version... god I would love to have that truck...351w, atuo, 4x4, w/dl, tilt cruse, bench seat... It was totaled out years ago...

You know down here in south OC I see quite a few older trucks (kinda on their last leg...looking) loaded 15' high with garage sale junk...all up on those ladder racks.
They are heading south on the 5. Ready to fall over at any time.
So I would say if your from BC then a ladder rack is like a whole another truck:sqeyes:
I have a shell on mine with a bed slide for tools but its job is mostly hauling a dump trailer to the land fill. Oh the joy.
I looked (for the fun of of it) tonight on the web and there is nothing available cheap with an 8' bed unless maybe a std. cab work truck platform. Again your bundle of cash and then some will leavith.
Bummer.
As a contractor I run several Isuzu NPR's for my service techs. Used they are cheaper than one might think. I could go on if your interested but this compared to a ranger is way off.
I'd bet for what you will spend on a Ranger Photoglou can get you into a 1500 Silverado with an 8' bed

Exactly...
