'04 Tahoe 5.3 - Anyone tried stroking and boring these??

Getting up on miles on my Tahoe, and looking for directions to build a better tow motor; came as a 295HP motor. This is my everyday driver, too.
I'd like to hear experiences from people who have gone the internal route, for waking these engine up... (cranks, cams, heads, etc). I'm not building a race motor, but a well breathing, high torque, well mannered engine.

Its cheaper to go bigger,LQ4 LQ9 you can get them pretty cheap.Check Ebay.The 5.3 steel block can be bored to a 5.7.I dont think they make a forged piston for the 5.3 yet.
