Think i have a water pump problem on my outboard. Get a alarm when going slow. Impeller has never been changed. Anyone want to tell me how to change it, or where i can get a service manual. It is a 60hp, 3cylinder, direct oil injection. Not sure of the year. Also can't find the ID numbers to look it up. Thanks

Who is the manufacturer of that 60 HP outboard? No doubt it needs a new
impeller if it's original! I had a OMC that was difficult due to the shift shaft
was in a bad spot to disconnect. (under carb.) Very tricky!

Most Mercs. are the same... remove the lower unit. I put the eng. in neutral so it stays put. (don't forget the bolt under the trim tab) Remove the housing.
Reverse procedure. The shift shaft will be your biggest problem... lining it up
as you slide the lower in place. If you're lucky, the water pipe will stay in the
block. If not, there is a rubber seal you must insert into. (flashlite)
This is not a hard job. Good luck!
