yea im geting used to it , it just sucks when the people that are supposed to know what there doing , mess up
Don't know what your budget is like, but you might consider a set of aftermarket cap screw rods. More clearance for just this sort of thing.
Engine builder should have known this...but you know that, now.
That sucks.
All things happen for a reason. There is justification to why a quality engine builder should get what they ask for price, but there is always those customers that reply back with you are crazy. For a twelve pack my buddy and I can put that together.

we did use ARP bolts so we would have more clearance but that wasn't enough
live and learn got it fixed now moving on
um would retarding or adavncing the cam help
It might. I had this same problem in a small block 406. I advanced the cam 2 degrees and it cleared it up.
I have built 2 race 383's and have had to order the small cam to avoid too much grinding.
thanks for all the info guys
it really helped get this motor together right
all this clearance stuff is so simple if you just do it first
we asked if all this needed to be dun but was told the setup we had would be good
my thing is that if there is any chance do the cleanceing fuking 15 min to do it before or 2 to 3 hours to do it later
