Thread: Remote Oil Filter ?????

    Im trying to remove the adaptor in the block that the lines screw on. I removed two bolts. It still will not come off....I want to replace the remote with a regular filter....HELP!!!!!
    This is a 454 Gen IV BBC

    It will kinda rock around a little bit. It will not come out?????

    The two bolts are the only thing that holds it in, it might be siliconed real well and need a little perswading if you know what i mean.

    I put it in there two years ago....Its just in DRY!!!!

    Sounds like it has some junk around it. Or is just "gunked up" Around the filter bore. Spray some brake clean around it, maybe try scraping around where it sits up in there. If it is a tight fit in the block even a little bit of paint or grime will make it tight.

    If the bolt directly behind the filter is TOO LONG it WILL bind things up. Originally the screw on adapter was quite a bit smaller than the opening so a long bolt made no difference.......Don't beat on it!! Check that bolt!!!....Ray
