Ford has been working on that idea for quite a while now. I remember reading about it back in 2000 or so. Back then it was supposed to be on the heavy duty truck (F250/350).
An interesting idea, but it has got to be a mechanical nightmare to pull off with any reliability.
Fords rock.
If the Ford truck is so good than why does the US government and my agency provide us with 2500HD's and Suburans to patrol in or escort important people to certain locations. The GM trucks here have taken a whoopin and they still come though for us. Even with all the extra weight of the internal armor. I don't want to start any trouble with you Ford guys but I'm just saying. :argue:
