I run a 540 merlin with imco sc drive and was just currious of the props differences.
My buddy runs a bravo 26 and a mirage 24. he like the bravo better.
Let me know if I am wrong, on a stern drive the bigger the prop the better the speed, smaller props more for tubing and cruising
and at what rpm's are you running 70 at?

    Scape,
with your HP and boat style I would think a 26P would be fine as a spare, but a 28P would be great for some speed runs. You have a ton of HP for that size boat.
    Just as a reference, I have an Ultra 247 with a 496HO and run a labbed 27.

I had Willmington propeller do the actual work on my prop.
    At 70 I am turning approx 5100 But I typically run around 40 / 50 mph.
Jim Wilkes at Wikes Marine can dial your prop in. He built my first Jet boat and he is the one who gave me the numbers on the proper RPM's to run at WOT.
Each boat will react differently depending on the setup, X dimension ect,
Yes a larger prop can increase your top end but an incorrect prop can cause a lot of unnecessary wear on the lower end. Being a large or small prop.
Best of luck, I was very fortunate to meet Jim Wilkes. Give him a call.
