It was a mistake, Barbara Boccuzzi now knows, to have her mother's diamond wedding ring in the box of costume jewelry she peddled at a church yard sale this month.
In the glare of the sun on July 7 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Boccuzzi said she did not see that the item a woman paid $140 for was her late mother's wedding ring.
Now, Boccuzzi said, she's willing to pay more than $140 to get back the .75 carat diamond ring. She does not know who bought the ring, which has a platinum setting.
"My sisters were upset and they said, "Oh, you should have consulted us,"' Boccuzzi told the Asbury Park Press.
