This blower looks like a 6-71.
How do you tell the difference on the small 6-71 & 8-71 blowers ?
Dont 8-71 blowers have 2 ribs in the center of the case ?
Big Proppa says this one is a 8-71

Don't know the measurement, but I believe you need to measure the lenght of the case. I don't think they have a spec for the amount of ribs on the case that is proportional to the size of the blower.

You count the ribs on the side.

Looks like the 4 & 6 have the same amount of ribs????
    as the 8 & 10 the same # and the 14 & 16 the same #'s
at least looking at the pic ???

They are ribbed, for her pleasure.

A 6-71 has a 15" case and they go up in increments of 1" from there (I think).

You count the ribs when trying to tell between the 6 and 8. The 4 only has 3 bolt holes for the manifold.

8-71 is 16" and they told me it has nothing to do with the number of ribs as there are all kinds of cases.

    I stand corrected.
I guess there is an exception to every rule.
    Every general rule that is.
