Austrians threw a party for one of their most famous sons -- Arnold Schwarzenegger -- celebrating his 60th birthday Monday with strudels and schnitzels.
"A Day for Arnold," was proclaimed by officials in the Austrian village where the governor was born.
A brass band played, a priest celebrated a special birthday Mass and 59 people joined the mayor of the village in a ceremony to wish Schwarzenegger well.
The mayor also sent the enameled number of the house where Schwarzenegger was born to the governor as a birthday present.
Schwarzenegger emigrated to the U.S. in 1968 and became a naturalized citizen in 1984. Although he remains fairly popular in Austria, he lost a bit of luster in 2005 after he refused to block the execution of a convicted gang founder.
The governor will also celebrate his birthday back home in Santa Monica.

Know am going to get flamed for this but think Arnold has done a lot of good for the State considering what he was given.

Not flaming, but you might want to look into that. Financially it is looking worse then when Davis was booted Smoke and mirrors do wonders. I think he tried and the real Arnold politics got smeared.
