I'm considering renting out our property at times when we're not there. It would be by the week, or, at a minimum by the weekend. I'm looking for feedback about price and interest levels. I'd also like ideas for the best places to advertise and reach boaters.
The specs for the property are:It is lakefront and just over 13 acres
The new cottage will have one king size bed and a huge living room
The existing cottage has one queen size bed and is like a studio apartment
The bunk house has four twin size beds
Everything is air conditioned & has sat. T.V.
Each of the three sleeping areas has it's own bathroom
There is virtually unlimited parking for R.V.s and boats/trailers
The property can easily handle 50+ people with R.V.s, etc
Three bedroom rentals, across the lake at Oak Shores go for $3,000 - $4,000 per week. For us to rent out our place, I would want at least $4,000/week. For large groups, I would want to charge more, depending on the size of the group.
Please share your thoughts and be candid. If you have experience with vacation rentals, I'm especially interested in your thoughts. I appreciate the help and feedback.
