Hoss, the new Victor intake is much better than the tunnel ram.
www.rocketracingperformance.com. Talk to John, super nice guy and knows 455's.
C'mon Hoss, a low rise offy 2X4 with AFBs will give you all that bottom end, right now! AND you could pull stumps with it during the week..........Ray
There was a tunnel ram on ebay recently.

After 3 cans of brake cleaner the motor is a metallic blue. Looks pretty cool. 398021 F

Guess its gonna be a super duper sparayed motor now with the highest comp CHEAP pistons I can find. Head gasket was a shim. Extremely thin and I know for a fact the motor was never gone through.
What am I looking at? Also why in the hell is the heat riser completely integrated with the center exhaust ports? Can I weld a plate over the riser port or would a piece of shim stock be suffecient?
By the left hand most spark plug hole (i.e. #1 or #8 cylinder) there will be a large letter cast into the head. That will tell you what heads you have.
You can block off the heat riser with shim material (keep the turkey pan gasket if you have it, fantastic shim material), but all the seriouse Olds guys fill it with Zinc and then grind the exhaust ports back out.
