    Aparently so.
So far 87 catz looked at this and have no clue wtf your talking about.
    I havent googled Benzedrine yet.
I'm down with the Smuttynose though.

benzedrine was prescribed a diet pill. An amphetamine, i think. The important thing here is the boogie woogie piano and the jazz chords' progression. 1944 i think. This song shot ol' Harry's career in the can. I think he ended up in the can too, for a while.
Smuttynose makes some great big beers. The Wheatwine Ale is especially strong and has an apparent effect somewhat above the ABV advertised. Their Barleywine Ale is among the best, and quite affordable.
'Hit that jive jack' is a jazz standard, probably made popular by Nat King Cole, and now done by many, many in various forms and styles, many better than the original.

I like barleywine style, but I'm more partial to anything with lots of HOPS. I have sampled many,many.... different micro brews. The hoppier the better. Bitter beer face I want it.
    My favorite:http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data...596beer_hw.gif

    like drinking a pine cone
I can enjoy them too. Nice welcome change sometime.
Get you some Lagunitas Hairy Eyeball. Much like the Smuttynose Wheatwine....bad for you
I was talking to Supersoaker last nite and trying to describe the physical appearance of the Smuttynose Wheatwine:
Canal water. You cannot see your finger at 1 inch from the glass. Pax river water is more clear on its worse day.

Cheese and rice! The last time I heard that song was on one of Dr. Dementos shows, probably in the late '70's...

"Cheese and rice" had to look that one up. First for me.
Yes, as i remember that is where i first heard it. Only a couple of times, yes in the '70's. I dont know what brought it back to mind but finding it again led to some other discoveries and reviews. Thus the "hit that jive jack" version by Slim Giallard.
Oh, yeah. Hammer: Where you think MGCrebbs got all that hep 'jive talk'

not far. Maybe Downington. Moving to Manhatten and the Bronx. Certainly it was from the 'hep' musicians of the 20's and 30's, and carried thru from the 40's to the 50's
