    2Prop,
I don't know how much I could help, but I do know what Dick Simon payed for the boat I bought. This might give you some idea of what kind of profit margin they are making off you. If this would help let me know and I will e-mail it to you.
Another thing I will add is the Cig's seem to hold their value better than most other comparable boats. This is one thing that makes it a little easier shelling out a little more.

2prop,I've figured you had your hands full with your project, since haven't seen you posting for awhile.Good luck getting the cig.The 38 would definately be more comfy to ride ,maybe your better half will be interested in boating again as well.Things don't go that well with my project. With all the good referralls from the marina managers,my surveyor and odd customers,my painter turned out to be a lazy bastard and the 3 weeks or so work required on my boat turned into a nearly eight months of battle with him. What his scam is , he collects some downpayments for "materials" from different customers ,does a little work on your boat and jumps to the next sucker. After that it becomes a nagging ordeal to get him finish the job. After a lenghty stalling and excuses ,he decided he couldn't finish my boat .[he started working on a 65' sailboat that will never be finished I'm sure now].So I decided to pull my boat out of his shed. Now comes the real eye opener. He had my boat entoombed in a makeshift shed on the boatyard [this becomes HIS property]and drums up a figure how much I owe him top of the downpayment I gave him previously.I told him that he won't get a penny from me since he hasn't even done enough work for the downpayment and I'm coming to pick up my boat.He had the balls to call the bailiff [another scumbag]who seized my boat with a mechanic's lien. What a joke! Over the months the marina operators learned my experience with him, they're on my side BUT still harbouring this criminal. They all are bloody wharf rats including the bailiff ,who negotiated to get my boat back for an additional 1000$.At this point I wanted to get my boat out of there before he would do some willfull demage, to make me snap and bust his skull ,landing me in jail in the process. It's the principal that really bothered me that these scumbags can operate from one place to another without punishment.I have a friend who works at revenue canada [irs]who will make sure he's going to pay tax on this money and audit him in the process.Hopefully he'll have a few sleepless nights.Sorry for grumbling about this matter ,but wanted others to read this story to be aware of fun and games involving restoration of a boat, or a car for that matter. All the people who reffered him to me, knew him for years but still didn't matter ,I got duped http://free.***boat.net/ubb/mad.gif http://free.***boat.net/ubb/mad.gif http://free.***boat.net/ubb/mad.gif Ps; maybe if we could have guns as easily as you guys in the states, people would be a little more respectful knowing they might get killed ,pissing somebody off.I'm sure the hell's angels get less trouble getting their bikes done in a reasonable time http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif.Phew ,that was long winded.PS; just found out the f...n bailiff is also a phoney ,using his parents credentials for years at this yard seizing boats left & right!
