For all of you who think these paint jobs are over the top in cost......Here is the paint list that I have for the "Honcho". This list does not include the sandpaper or the materials for the colorsand & rub out phase of this job.
1. 1 gallon of black.
2. 3 quarts of silver (base coat)
3. 2 pints of Aztec Gold concentrate
4. 1 pint of Tangerine concentrate
5. 6 jars of silver miniflake
6. 3 gallons of midcoat clear (DBC 500)
7. 10 gallons of reducer (mid temp/slow)
8. 5 1/2 gallons of clear
9. 1 1/2 gallons of hardner
10. 7 rolls of 2" 3M tape
11. 18 rolls of 3/4 " "
12. 17 rolls of 1/4" blue fineline (3M)
13.5 rolls of 1/8" blue fineline (3M)
14. TON'S of labor. The sanding between all the coats of clear and the spraying of the clear to get the flake smooth so you can lay out the graphics is time consuming and Jerry has been involved in alot of this sanding. So if you want to flake a boat be prepared for a material bill that isn't wallet friendly.
