take out your thermostats
run land and sea heads and over heats at higher speed
take out your thermostats
I agree with SnapperTapper. Take out your thermostats and replace with a stainless steel washer. I did this on my Mercury and it runs cool. It will be a trial and error process to find the washer with the right inside diameter that will allow you to run cool but maintain pressure, but this works. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/cool.gif
land and sea heads have no thermosat i dont know if i need a presure valve to retain water in the block the motor turns a 32 re mazco 7600 rpm
What kind of water pressure are you getting at WOT?
i dont run a presure gauge egt is at 1250temp get up to 180 before i trim it down with the jack plate but i never lose water flow
You know your rig better than me, but I have always been told to run a pressure gauge and to run a minimum of 10lbs. Most of the time I try to run 12 to 15 lbs. Perhaps your engine is getting warm because you are not getting enough pressure? Just because you have good flow does not necessarily mean good pressure. If you are only running 5 or 6 lbs. or less, this is why your motor is getting hot. What type of boat do you have? How high is you motor set up in relation to the bottom of the hull? http://free.***boat.net/ubb/cool.gif
19' action marine propshaft is about 2" below the bottom
you should run omc heads without thermostat this will illiminate any cooling problems
i would run omc mod heads with thermostat housing only no htermostat
