I would've said Nordskog but if it ain't, Blevins had a transom like that but I thought it went all the way to the plate.
I saw this at John Miller's shop a few days ago, and told him I'd post some pics to see if we could find some info on it. No idea what it is, or who made it.

Interesting transom. Kind of reminds me of the old Nordskog race boats.

Yes, it's as flat as it looks. No entry what so ever!

Thanks for that, coolchange. I think you're right about the transom on the Nordskog.
140 views and nothing??
Looks like the Cheese Monster from back in the day.
is the deck original or added latter?
Your right "coolchange" my dads boats (Don Blevens) the transoms didn't step in like that at the bottom, and on the later models, Fancy Pants and Glorybound the cavitation plates were resest and couldn't be seen from the side, keep the v-drive alive
is the deck original or added latter?
I know it was re-done recently, but not sure if the original was wood. I'm guessing that it was, just not sure. Maybe John will chime in and offer a little more background.
Thanks Scott
Here's what is known about this boat. The boat belongs to Clyde Dedrick, he bought it 10 years ago. Ron Bolton and his father re-rigged the boat in the early 70's. Clyde has done a ton of research trying to figure out who built the boat and came up with it possibly being a Labelle. I've never seen anything like it, and I don't remember a boat company by that name.
About 4 years ago Harlan re-skinned the 9' deck. Clyde brought the boat to me to glass the deck and restore the hull.
Dave Sammons will do the hardware and rigging.
The boat could possibly have been built and drag raced in the 60's.
What is the hull made of? My Glenelle Thunderbolt has a similar notch in the transom but the sides are all different. The guy who built mine also built 2 others. He was a tooling engineer at General Dynamics and was experimenting around the Glenelle plans.
I think Labelles had a slanted transom also but the ones I've seen I think went all the way down. They were very flat also. Seems like they were real "pointy" looking, and I remember the squared rail at the transom, its been about 25 years since I've seen one though.
Cheese Monster? Get the camera!
