Thread: What is this cart worth?

If you're looking at a Rhino, I'd probably go with that. Carts have pretty crappy resale.
Exactly!!!!!! Take this from a guy whos had a cart with a ton of money dumped into it. I sold this thing for $5k and I felt I was lucky to get it. Over $7k into it.

6 months after completion I gave it away for 5500.00. I had fun building it but lost my arse on the labor.

A 23 year old golf cart for $4,800
I say buy it then donate it to the Arnold Palmer golf history museum and take the tax write off. Then, add $4,000 to that and pick up a nice rhino at a fire sale.

I like the cart. It runs great, its practically all new. Just needs seats re-done to match and shocks on the front end. I offered the guy $3,500 and he turned it down. I thought, wow this guy is on crack. Oh, well. I just wanted to be sure I was not missing something.
It is just hard to find a clean high-hp golf in this town for less than $5k. I can get a nice 9hp all day long for $3,500 but those things are dogs. This one is pretty fast. I did not even top it out. He says it runs 35 and I ran it up to 30 no problem.

Into it for $8,500 as it sits. Could get 9K for it tomorrow. Lot more versatile than a 23 year old Fairway Queen IMO

No question. But for me I would be looking at $10k minimum because I want a 4-seat capacity. I was just going to try the golf cart first and see if we use it enough to justify a Ranger/Rhino. That is why I want to buy something I can re-sell for a minimal loss or gain.
........I know, I am a cheap bastard but at least I am not over my head

Your comparing apples to oranges. The Rhino is night and day difference and really shouldn't be compared to a golf cart.

I'm not comparing them. I know the Rhino/Ranger is way more capable. I just don't want to drop $13k on a used 4-seat Ranger and then not use it enough to justify the cost. Just like people move up from Jet Skis to boats, people move up from carts to Rhinos/Rangers.

I understand what your saying but I thought the same way. The cart was definately cool but I just felt that if I still had the cart I wouldn't use it as much as the Rhino. Not to mention resale on the really sucks now since the evolution of the side/side.

Thanks. I may just have to step-up:idea:
