Some of you may not know but this yellow boat was Marlene & Bill Faulkner Sr. own original 'Hot Canary' that was restored by George Nordling to run with his 'Nemos Lavey Navey'. The is the only L-boat that I know of that features 4 forward strakes and a 3/4 dropped chine. It runs very very good and has beaten Georges' SS76 cut down orange L more than once!

Great weekend had by all, aside from the girl who felt safer taking her chances jumping in the water to get away from her dad, who had more than just cold ones on board ( him not his boat ). Dad needed a good ole fashion welcome from the boys for that one.
Missed you Flat Rat, you could have run with us and had a good time. Its no fun just pickin on one billhilly.
A special thanks to NotsuchaJERKafterall, for the constant adult supervision. Im finaly starting to get the right pedal to work better than my left one. And for your efforts to keep the nostalgia in the sport, so the weekenders like us can have a great time. Oh ya, and the parts that I keep borrowing. Thanks again jerk and the blonde

Yup, cant say his moldy oldy #17 Hallet is anything but fast and well driven by last Iones Champion in the former B class. This 396 is one of the fastest, in fact it ran so hard in its first heat that Steve itimidated one racer to the point of quiting for the day.
Too bad his new Manley max flow valves took a dump. Anyone thinking on updating to nice valves, this racer might advise otherwise. The stem top just broke off. This boat came from Phoenix, I believe and may have been someones racer from the past, anyone recognize it?

As soon as I get a new disc of this actual race, I will post more, if there is still interest.

my years of racing paid off. the jerk gave me a trophy for second place in ski class. i have race outboard hydros for almost 20 years with 10 years off before going back on the race course. THANKS ALOT JERK for getting me back into the fun of going out and having fun out on that water circle again. it was sure fun to be on the water at the same time as you. you are a great leader and example for current-past-and future racers in nostalgil flats. also i want to thank you for all your help setting up the SS396 and the advice you have given me over the last year. it was this time last year that we went over to the west side and picked up the sanger. the better half and myself have had a great time in 1970 Sanger flatty and look forward to more time to come. THANKS AGAIN

A more recent shot of the SK winner Jeff H. who bought Justins 535 Hondo Sprint bottom similar to V-drive Videos and now has 396 power pulling an 18 gear 7400 rpm with a 14 pitch prop. Not bad. At this time in Clarkston, his GPS said 85.6! This was on a short 3/4 mile course.

    I left myself out!
'Greaser' #57 is a 1973 Aquacraft Shark with a 1974 LS7 now equipped with a Joe Hunt 1962 magneto, Isky Z33 vintage camshaft, Weind dominator tunnel ram, Joe Reath prepped crank & short block, 12 degree Casale with 15s, all Nicson hardware, and a 11 X 15 Kindsvater prop. I believe this boat had some ski racing in its past but dont really know for sure. All I know is it's heavy and rides like a Cadillac. and it's faster than SS396, just barely.
