Konrad Ace Propulsion System Debuts as OEM Steering/Drive Package on Velocity SSC Concept Boat
Konrad Marine introduced the Ace Propulsion System at the 2006 Miami International Boat Show. CEO Ken Konrad describes the Ace Propulsion System as a complete package, built to the industryÂ’s highest standards. KonradÂ’s Ace Propulsion System includes a transom assembly, extension box, steering and high performance stern drive.
“We build the strongest, most durable stern drives available,” Konrad said. “With the Konrad Ace Propulsion System, we offer the highest quality components in a reliable, high-performance steering and drive package.”
Demand for High-Performance Quality, Zero Failures Drove Development of Konrad Ace Propulsion System
The evolution of a high-performance package is the next logical step for Konrad Marine, which has been building its Model 540 high performance drive since 2001. The Konrad Ace Propulsion System offers performance boat builders a complete drive package that requires minimal service and wears longer than a conventional OEM installation.
“Performance boat sales are relatively flat since 2000. Frequent drive failures add considerable cost and take away time that should be spent enjoying your boat,” Konrad Sales Manager Fred Sparling said. “With quality OEM components and a reputation for zero failures, the Konrad Ace Propulsion System should help drive performance boat sales in 2006.”
Power Team Partnership with Velocity Powerboats
Velocity PowerboatsÂ’ new SSC 41 concept boat is powered by twin Ace Propulsion Systems. The SSC 41 debuts at the Miami Show, and will tour poker run events and marine shows nationwide throughout 2006.
“We are thrilled to have Konrad Marine as our OEM supplier in this important horsepower and torque range,” Steve Stepp, Velocity Powerboats President and CEO said. “The industry has been waiting for a reliable and efficient stern drive power assembly to bridge the gap in the 600-850 horsepower range. The Velocity 800 horsepower engine, teamed with the Konrad Ace Propulsion System, enables many Velocity models to exceed the coveted 100 mile-per-hour mark.”
