I never thought that I would say this, but I am going to sell my favorite of all toys.
Titled and registered as 2007 "Special Construction". It's street legal enough to get by here in AZ, but you wouldn't get away with it in CA.
Motor is a 1600 VW with forged pistons and teflon buttons and 8 dowel crank. Heads are lightly ported. Fuel Injection is a Holley Projection 2D. Turbo is a Garrett T-3 from a Chrysler 2.2L. Waste gate is a Turbonetics DeltaGate with 9# spring. Motor has external oil filter and 94 pass cooler. Total capacity is over 5 quarts. Motor will run on pump gas with the 'gate turned down or make lots of power on race gas with it turned up. Your choice!
Trans is a Rancho Pro-Street, with 4.37 R&P, tall first gear, stock second, and short 3rd & 4th. Has a Kennedy Stage 2 clutch.
Front suspension is stock trailing arms, no brake, and aluminum beam with custom shock towers. Rear is stock VW with the exception of disc brakes and KYB shocks.
Car was completely disassembled and gone through in January 2007. Every bolt is either Grade 8 or Allen head stainless. Every wire connection is soldered and shrink wrapped. All plumbing is either stainless braided or Parker push-lok. Lighting is a pair of Hella 9000's with 120w bulbs on the sides and 3 5" 100w halogens up top. Alternator was built and tweaked on by Alternator Specialties and puts out over 80 amps. Starter is a IMI high torque.
Front tires are 5 rib implement, rears are 31x10.5x15 A/T's and a set of 13.00 x 15 Sand Tires Unlimited paddles on 15x14 rims are included.
The only thing wrong with it is that the paint on the header has burned off and looks like crap.....
I have over $10 k invested in this car and it shows! You won't find a better car in the price range. I am not very willing to negotiate to don't try to low ball me......

    Cool buggy.
How many hrs/miles on the motor?
Any dyno #'s or guess to the hp?

    Thanks.
When I had the motor out last winter, I split the cases and checked out the bearings and it looked brand new. I didn't feel the need since it had 50+ # oil pressure, but I plasti-gaged everything anyways. The mains were a little over .002" and rods a little under .002". I put it back together with new jugs (and pistons/rings) I have put 2 trips to Topock, the St. Paddy's day poker run, and various short desert trips on it since, so I would guess around 350-400miles.
The last desert run left me out after dark (poor planning) with only sunglasses, so I took the highway home from the I-40/95 interchange. 60-65mph, 20miles, and the thing used barely over a gallon a fuel and the oil temp never got over 160.
I never put the motor on a dyno, but Geoff Hart lended his ear a few times on the setup and he guessed about 120hp on 91 and maybe 150 cranked up on 110. With the old (smaller) tires on it, it would carry the nose through 2nd, but the 31's settled it down a little.
I know 150hp doesn't seem like much, but in an 900# car it's alot.....
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Thanks for looking!
