Thread: Diverter

    Just traded and got my first jet boat, hope to take it out this weekend. Has a diverter on it. Is this like a trim? Do you start with it down and then trim to neutral or start in neutral and trim for speed? Any help is apppreciated.

    Mine has factory electric "trim-a-just" from Berkeley, but basically the same difference. I have only had to put it in the down position once, otherwise I am about neutral or trimmed up for some rooster tail. I have taken off from a dead stop trimmed up just to watch the geyser form when I nail it but every boat is different. Just start with it approx neutral and feel it out from there...
    How big of a boat and what king of power is it making?

    Rooster up = bow up. Adjust accordingly.
    For pulling up tubes and skiers etc. a notch or two down works good for me.
    Tail up for attempts at wheelies
    You just got to play and find the sweet spots for what you want to do.
    Tail up while under way helps cut through heavy chop and the mess made by the wakeboard boats.
