    Ok, technique ??? should the tire be off and laying flat on the ground or should it be standing vertical?

    Put the tire around the rim, lay it down, pour around inside with little trail and light her up. Make sure he doesn't catch himself on fire.

    I've done it more than once. I have always used gas, but not too much. Wheel should be off the vehicle laying flat. Pour a little gas in and let the fumes fill the tire. Here is where you need to be careful. If you do just the right amount of gas it will seat the bead and leave the tire full. Too much gas the fire will conitue to burn and you will need to pump it bcak up somehow. I have always tried to throw the match at the bead, so I'm not too close if anything goes wrong. Never had a problem.

    ***boat comes through again... He did it off the truck and on the 2nd attempt pop, right on the bead... He is now filling the tire with his 12 volt compressor... a slow process to say the least...
