Are you kidding? Outboards have to haul ass so you can beat all the other fishermen to the good fishing holes and win the tournament.

Or to scare unsuspecting jet boat owners when they go for a ride.

I was just talking to my office mate and he was telling me there is some guys that will run wide open across rough water for 2 and a half hours to get a prime spot in a tourny then turn around and do it agian on the way back, no thanks.

You know, if you're a really good bass fisherman, you can even win a new bassboat with one of those clamp on things on the back.

THey dont have to buy them, they have some dealio set up where they get the boat to use and then give it back at the end of the year, where it is gone thru and then sold, meanwhile the pro gets another boat. Some of them tournys get to 600k payouts, all for catching some damn fish. sheesh.

Well, before all the blown and injected car motors came along, the outboards were untouchable.
A cougar with twin 280 Mercs will run over 100 mph (according to HB mag) out of the box. No hop-ups, no blowers, no bullshit.
So, you tell me. Are outboards fast?

Let's race and see how opinions flow eh?

24 year old motor and I can still kick the crap out of almost all jets.

The shape of that hull and the layout of that interior looks very familiar to me.
