1965 Volkswagen Beetle on a '70 IRS chassis. titled as a '70. I have had the car for two years, don't want to sell but must. When I bought the car, the P/O that built it up had stripped all the running gear and interior and painted it white, inside and out, installed new door panels, carpets, seat covers and rubver floors, new body mounts, new German trim, new lapbelts and headliner.
He installed new German ball joints on a beam with a single adjuster,New brake shoes, wheel cylinders, hoses and M/C. The car has a 73 Ghia Trans and he installed a new shift coupler and shift rod bushing, I installed a Scat Reverse-lock out shifter. New clutch, pressure plate and T/O bearing.
The wheels are wide-five; they're powdercoated red and have stainless trim rings and wanna-be Porsche hub caps. The spare is coated too.
This past summer I had the top end of the engine freshened. The crank is a stocker with counterweights, we installed new Cima 90.5 cylinders and pistons/pins/rings. It has new CB Performance 044 heads with oversize stainless steel valves, chromoly retainers and sure grip locks. Ratio Rockers help the stock cam breathe a bit better. We installed the copper "headsaver" head gaskets.New HD pushrods, tubes and seals and a new factory style oil cooler. The engine even has the factory thermostat installed. The generator is a fresh rebuild. The engine has the new Twin Solex 35mm PDSIT carbs custom built and jetted for it by Aircooled.net the carbs are synched, and feed from a Holley electric pump, and a Holley Adjustable fuel pressure regulator with a gauge. The engine has a Scat Breather box, chrome valve covers and I threw on some braided lines to the breather box. Engine tins are also coated red.The Exhaust system is a 1-1/2 inch Kymco Merged header, it is ceramic coated inside and out. New H.P. Kymco ceramic coated heater boxes, too. The muffler is a Dynomax "fatboy"
The car is a great daily driver that runs fine on cheap gas. It is not a showpiece, but gets looks and smiles everywhere I take it. The dash is uncut, I installed a CD player in an aftermarket glove box. it gets around 20 MPG up here in the mtns. $30.00 a year to license, $30 a month for full coverage. Everything works, even the dome light and backup light. No trades, I need the $. I'm in to the car for over $7500.00, and have recpts. for the engine parts. I am asking $6250.00 or realistic offfer.
PM me here if I left something out. I am east of Sacto, would work with someone to meet within a couple hundred miles for delivery.

    Thanks Barry.
I really don't want to sell "Zippy", but need to deal with some other issues.
I will get another Bug someday.
