In a good market that car could possibly go for 25k. It probably cost that or more to build. But the market for buggys right now is so soft I personaly would start by offering 16k and go to 20k tops IF it didn't have any obvious repairs and was not jerry rigged in any way. I sat and waited on a buggy for sale for about 4 months before I made an offer just recently and got a 75k buggy for 50k.
That car looks pretty cool and would be a perfect desert car with that beam front end.
    Good Luck!

Not a pricing expert on dirt and sand cars but I would bet there is a ton of fun to be had in that thing.
My guess would be somewhere around $25k swinging +/- $5k
The eco-tec is nice touch. Looks nicely done from the one pic shown.
I have built a few old school JSC sand cars with rear and mid VW applications but that is all the experience I have. That stuff I built would fall apart in the dirt in 5 min.

Its got all the parts.. but its only worth what someone is willing to pay.
Ive seen tons of deals on
    http://www.dunebuggy.com/classifieds/view
Im sure you have looked also.. seems that the buggy value is like the boat market.. (very soft)
But its the right time of year....
Ive seen some similar cars between 13 and 20k (this was over the summer)
    are you buying or selling?

I would almost rather be selling a boat right now than a buggy...25k, with a 3to 5k swing.
    Underpowered, and what trans?

Built Bus trans as stated in the parts list. I am thinking maybe the little 4 banger would do just goofing off in the washes. All the nice stuff is too nice to go trash. There was a Mcmullen buggy I missed that would have been nice. Raw race form ( No bling) but LS1 and Fortin, but I missed it.

You can make that Ecotec scream. The guy I do most of my work for had a Tatum Black Widow 2 seater called "Big Red Machine" that had an Ecotec in it that made 1500hp on the dyno.
They can make hp, but my thoughts are always with RELIABLE HP. Im not a fan of building motors that you plan to run in the desert, for a play toy. One of our drivers in the pro truck built a prerunner with one of these, and it just didnt make enough "reliable" HP to pre run Mexico, he swapped it out for a Subaru, make power, but it was stolen before he could dial it in.

Details, details. It could make 1100 hp on race gas, because that's what it made when we pulled it and sold it.
just from what i read when it was in the magazine. They seem to be a very solid lil motor.
