Thread: My Catalytic Converter was Stolen WTF???

Went out to and started my 4 runner (which is up for sale) this morning and it sounded like a dragster. Looked underneath and saw a big empty space where my catalytic converter used to be. Toyota wants $900 for a new one. I guess this is becoming increasingly popular all over the place. There is some expensive metals inside that they are able to get money for according to the Toyota parts guy. Toyota 4 runners and similar cars are being hit because its easy to crawl underneath. What a way to start my day

Try some of the local muffler shops for a used one or a junk yard. NSF

A decanted cat is worth bucks. I used to run with a buddy hitting junk yards for the things for extra cash.

Go to any muffler shop, you can get one installed for around 250.

So, where would you sell them? Recycling center, scrap yard?
