Old school motor all the way, multiy carbs
Pretty cool, looks like it's in excellent shape.

Reserve is proably around 8000.00 If you could build a musem piece
Guys,
I have seen this boat personally and had been asked to rig it by the owner, if that was the direction he decided to go. This boat is TRULY a special piece! He is not lying when he says that there is not a hole drilled in this boat. It is as if it just came out of the wood shop in 1959, ready to be glassed and then rigged. Hard to believe something like this could be around 49 years later! As far as what this is worth...I will tell you that Harlan Orrin, whose father owed the Mandella Boat Company in those days, told me, in todays dollars, to recreate this boat, would cost about 17,000.00 in labor and materials...and this boat is the ORIGINAL PIECE! And I gotta tell ya that it's probably going to take at least that to get it! If you think this boat can be had for much less than this, then you are obviously not well versed in VDRIVE history or classic wood boat craftsmanship. If anyone SERIOUSLY interested wants to drop me a PM, I would be happy to discuss the possibilities of this old beauty.
Harlin did built one from memory a few years ago, a '53 Mandella clone and has had the bare hull out at the races at Long Beach for the past 4 years or so. And I think the price was just about what you quoted. He struck some kinda deal with Dave Mandella and Dave told me in Aug. that he was going to finally rig the boat. It's beautiful.
But this deal on ebay, holy crap, what a find.
