Thread: AK-47....A superior weapon.....

This guy is an idiot . Kalashnikov must be rolling in his grave . I had the AK 47 while served
and found this weapon performed well for what it was designed for .
First of all the penetrating power is excellent between 100-200 yards .Our moving targets at 100 yards were 1/2 thick steel plate and the 7.62 ammo penetrated through cleanly . While the M-16 is a lot more accurate the AK 47 is deadly up to 1500 meters .You wouldn't want to try and catch the bullet with your hand ! The aiming sight was a bit crude and simple but once set up it was fairly accurate up to 100-150 yards . I've always averaged 28 out of 30 on the target paper . Never seen one on fire like in the video . That guy must have been through a lot more than 300 rounds using those round magazines .
We had 27mm twin barrelled anti aircraft guns with 2500 round per min capability and those barrells started smoking at the end of rounds .You just swapped the barrells and kept firing .
    What he said!!

I wonder if it would catch on fire if you got rid of the wood barrel shrouds. I'm sure oil covered wood is'nt prefered with hot barrels. What do you want for 3rd world country weapons?
