Great pics!!! Even the sideways one. You know, this thread will be very helpful to Blown Dough as the princess was just asking about NYC. Hope that she gives you props for any advice you can give her.
New York is a great city. Unfortunately, the first time I saw it was during a less desirable time, but, I was able to go again in October of 2002. Being bornand raised in So Cal, I was amazed at the size of the city and buildings.
Without even asking I'd bet you had a great time. I gotta go back again. Thanks for sharing the pics, even if one of em did give me a cramp in my neck
Ground Zero--If you don't cry here, your heart is made of ice...http://www.***boat.com/image_center/...0/IMG_3730.jpg
St Paul's church is right across the street from where the Twin Towers fell-it is a miracle that only one tree was lost. There are tombstones here from the 1700's--George Washington's pew is here--he prayed after his inauguration here, and had a regular pew he sat in. It was beautiful and emotional.

The whole front of the church is full of different signs like this--very moving. I only took one picture inside the church, even though is was so awesome to be there, it almost felt disrespectful to photograph hallowed ground. The inside is full of amazing things--tons of volunteer patches from all different agencies, donations and cards, signs, mementos. Pews have been left "dinged up" from firefighters boots and such--they decided to leave them that way rather than fix them--it is a reminder of their determination, and their exhaustion working there for so long. The church was a safe haven for rest, prayer, and counseling. My favorite place on my trip for sure.
