Where to find engine hoist?

Hey everyone, i wanna pull my motor out of my boat to finish it...where can i go for a hoist to barrow? ill buy my own stand, but just need to get it out of the damn boat...im in long beach...any ideas?

I use a poor mans A-frame. Beef up your garage rafters and hang a chain hoist. This is how my dad used to do it and I have followed in his footsteps.
I stand up 4 x 4's under 2 main beams just for insurance. I also have a cherry picker also but its not as eazy or quick.

Long Beach huh, you're in downtown circle jet city!! IF you went to the circle jet races you would know about 10 people in Long Beach to borrow a hoist from..........You need to get out more often........PM Lil Rick, he'll probably know someone in your backyard to help you out..........MP

yeah i know! i do need to get out more...i know some of the guys in LB like olrigger, and flat broke etc...ill hit him up, thanx for the tip

niiice! thanx alot, i like that price...what would i use from that hook to hook up the block? chains? does anyone have a pic of that?
