I was talking about System 1, I wont use Fram. Used to work in a parts store, cut many filters open Fram the cheesiest, Wix and Motocraft were the best from what I could see.

    gbelt,
I have used the System 1 filters for 14 years( I think). As many times as the engine came apart with nitrous issues(holed pistons 4 times) twice trash passed the filter that hurt the bearings the other two times the bearings were fine.
If the engine goes together clean your not passing trash through the oiling system anyway. But they do not screen as small micron size as other filters that is true.

Oberg for a remote or system 1 makes one that replaces a regular filter in either short or normal length, then you can always see what is going on inside you motor when you clean it.
    Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a nice little article and spreadsheet comparing the common oil filters used in cars. The guy took them all apart and laid them out. Anything but Fram should be ok. I guess the Frams come apart with a cold startup because they are just paper glued together.
