    Black Bear Racing & The 'Black Mamba' #454 Team would like to Thank All Those that made it possible for us to Race PE in this past weekend's IHBA World Finals. Though we went out in the 3rd Round of Eliminations due to equipment malfunction, I'm confident we made a few Blown Alky Hydro's aware of our presence.
    Sponsors (To Whom We Are Deeply Grateful, For Without Their Support Our Appearance Would Not Have Been Possible):
    Debbie Young, Santaya Media Consultants, Phoenix, Arizona;
    Dave Ebbert, DNE MotorSports, Costa Mesa, California;
    Duane Oblander, Hi-Tech Performance, Shell Knob, Missouri;
    Bobby Bootz, Another Welding Company, Phoenix, Arizona;
    Jack McClure, Marine Performance Design, Costa Mesa, California and;
    Dan Nelson, Jett Performance Marine, Phoenix, Arizona;
    Our Special Thank You’s To:
    Dave Ebbert (DNE MotorSports) for Designing, Building, and Tuning Advice of/for ‘Ms. MoneyPenny’, our motor … A Truly Remarkable Piece that we’re just now beginning to explore her Potential ….. And,
    Duane Oblander (Hi-Tech Performance) for providing us with one of his New, Tuned Hi-Helix Jet Pump Sytems (a system that ‘Moves A Lot of Water’ through it) and, his Ongoing Technical Support and Sponsorship as we optimize this New Jet Pumps Potential.

    We would also like to Congratulate 'Big John D.' for Qualifying his # 516 Cheyenne in the Upper Half of the PE Ladder and going as far as he did in Eliminations ... Qualifying in the Upper Half is quite an Accomplishment given the Number 16 Qualifyer in PE was Running in the 8.0's and he too Showed That Jets Can Run Right With The V-Drive Guys In PE .....
    Good Job John!

    Thanks Ken.
    The combination of installing Duane's Race Tuned 'Hi-Helix' Impeller & Ultimate Wear Ring, changing over to the 'Snoot' from our old Berkeley Droop and new motor tune made quite a difference in our E.T.'s and 1/4 Mile mph's both at Ming and Firebird. What also helped a great deal was Duane's coming out here and spending a week with us at one of our local lakes setting up the pump and passing on his knowledge in general ... it was a fun and very productive week that all of us enjoyed. Needless to say, we are more than happy with the results of all our and Duanes work ... now it's a matter of deciding which direction we're going to take in '08 and tuning the system for that purpose.
    Here recently, during one of our conversations Duane mentioned that he had just put your impeller on his bench to finish 'tuning' it for your FORD ... Glad it turned out as well as it did ... and I must say: "That's a Very Nice Cheyenne you have" ... Capps & Duane have 'Done Well' for you. Note that if I were to change hulls, I would go to a light weight Capps Cheyenne.

    Jak,
    Glad to hear that you did well at Firebird, the results on the IHBA website show that you did a sub 8 second run.
    Congrats,

    That was quite a Run Wiilliam. Had Mike not been 'On His Game' and gotten out of it as he went into the Traps, we would have certainly lost that round ... as it was, Mike 'Opened The Back Door' for the Blown Alky Hydro and he 'Broke Out' worse than we did and Lost... by 0.024 sec. ... Quite a Race, a classic jet vs. hydro bracket race.

    You did real well also ... 0's in Qualifying is quite a Trick.
