Thread: Cruiser cav plate Q's

While I'm waiting for the tranny and the resin in the old holes in the stringers to cure, I'm looking at the cavitiation plates.
On this '75 Hallet 21' the plates were aluminum and fixed. They were also short by about 10 from the centerline of the keel, I know I want/need adjustable plates (anyone have an actuator?) , my question is more about the size and length. Can/do I go from the centerline out to where they end now and what width is appropriate. With four turnbuckles per, I figure I'll need at least one more per side especially with aluminum plate. And if I go stainless, is there a preferred gauge?
    Thanks in advance.
